WHO WE ARE
Stephen Covey said it best: “There are certain things that are fundamental to human fulfillment. The essence of these needs is captured in the phrase 'to live, to love, to learn, to leave a legacy'. The need to live is our physical need for such things as food, clothing, shelter, economical well-being, health. The need to love is our social need to relate to other people, to belong, to love and to be loved. The need to learn is our mental need to develop and to grow. And the need to leave a legacy is our spiritual need to have a sense of meaning, purpose, personal congruence, and contribution.” And this is what Lord of the Streets Episcopal Church and Community of the Streets Outreach are all about.
Every day Lord of the Streets Episcopal Church and Community of the Streets Outreach help hundreds of clients with the tools and support to reclaim their lives. Through transitional housing, on-site job training, state identification assistance, crisis intervention, healthcare, and case management programs, we rescue men, women and children caught in the grips of poverty. We witness firsthand the challenges they face, and shape our services to best meet their needs. We understand what works, what doesn’t, and what makes sense. Our unique position allows us to offer hope and opportunity for economic independence and a brighter future to our most vulnerable citizens.
