 In the life of any family or individual, disaster
can strike: illness, job loss, death of a loved one, loss of a home.
Although Community of the Streets Outreach’s overall focus is
long-term self-sufficiency, our Direct Assistance Program helps families in
crisis get through the worst of times and begin to rebuild their lives.
Linking these clients with other community programs helps prevent future
crisis situations.
The Direct Assistance program provides basic
supportive services:
- clothing
from our Clothing Center
- hygiene
items
- transportation
in the form of bus tokens for public transportation
- financial
assistance obtaining state identification and/or birth certificates
- food
packs to those living in poverty
