Our Mission
The work and mission of Lord of the Streets Episcopal Church and Community of the Streets Outreach is to minister to the spiritual, emotional, physical and social needs of individuals living in Houston who are homeless, in crisis or in transition.
The Changing Face of Homelessness...
When you think of the word "homeless," what image comes to mind? Do you think about:
- A single mother of four trying to make it in a new city?
- A senior citizen with a disability and no support system?
- A family hit hard by the economic downturn?
- A young woman fleeing an abusive relationship?
These are real families and individuals who are facing homelessness in Houston. Lord of the Streets Episcopal Church’s (LOTS) and Community of the Streets Outreach’s (COTS) goal is to return homeless families and individuals to self-sufficiency through counseling, job training, and educational programs.
